Project
“Memory Park” as a New Form of Ritual Spaces
Category
Best Project of Public Space by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project offers a contemporary interpretation of a cemetery as an open space integrated into the urban environment. The “necropolis-park” concept combines memorial and recreational functions, creating a space for remembrance, solitude, and quiet, accessible to city residents in daily life.
The project is based on an eco-friendly approach: new burial formats are applied, including eco-capsules and resomation—a safe alternative to traditional cremation. The spatial organization of the area is structured through connections with urban green routes and complemented by small architectural forms, pavilions for farewells and solitude, varied landscapes, and water features.
This is not just a place of remembrance but a fully integrated element of the urban landscape, where architecture, nature, and people exist in harmonious interaction.
