About the project (provided by the applicant)
“Kirovsk-Murmansky” is the name of the now-abandoned railway station in the city of Kirovsk. The station building was constructed for the World Miners’ Congress, which was scheduled to take place in Kirovsk.
The renovation of the station can become a catalyst for the city’s development, setting a new direction for its economic and cultural growth. Establishing a Mineral Museum in the building will not only complement the city’s infrastructure, but also become a landmark attraction, drawing tourists while serving as a modern educational and leisure center.
In the artistic concept of the project, I aimed to reflect the theme of minerals and mining from different perspectives, developing it in each interior. The museum spaces highlight both the beauty and fragility of minerals and the harshness of the mining process.
