About the project (provided by the applicant)
This project focuses on the comprehensive modernization of the Devyatkino Transport Hub. The project is relevant due to the increasing transport load in the dynamically developing Murino district in Leningrad Region. The aim is to optimize passenger flows, improve comfort and safety, implement modern eco-friendly solutions, and develop the surrounding infrastructure. The main integrated solution is the unification of the railway station, metro station, bus terminal, and public infrastructure into a single system.
The design solutions include the use of reinforced concrete supports and span structures to create an underground space beneath the railway tracks. The above-ground part of the complex will be highlighted by an expressive spatial canopy structure made of glued-laminated timber, chosen for its unique structural and aesthetic properties, as well as sustainability.
The modernization of the Devyatkino Transport Hub can positively impact the transport development of Murino.
