Project Apartment in the monastery cells built in the 18th century
Category Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project
About the project The apartment is located at Level 1 of the building that dates back to the 18th century, in the cells of the former Transfiguration of the Saviour St. Abramius Monastery. The Monastery was shut down in the early 20th century, and in the 1970s the cells were readjusted for regular residence. Year after year, new elements were added to the apartment, making it lose its uniqueness. The authors dismantled literally everything that had been built in the recent decades, leaving only the original vault ceilings untouched - with all their cavities and rough spots.
