About the project (provided by the applicant)
“Monolith” is inspired by the rich natural landscape of the Don steppes. Its brutalist, clean forms reflect the structure of the building, where every detail is imbued with function and meaning. Harsh and resilient, the house opens inward toward the beauty of the Don River delta. A spacious terrace connects to the open-air pool area — the heart and soul of the home. These spaces are protected by the structure from the scorching summer sun and shielded from prying eyes.
The first floor serves a public function, featuring a guest room, bathroom, garage with boiler room, storage, and a spacious living and dining area with a separate kitchen, convenient for visiting staff.
The second floor is fully occupied by two large master bedrooms, each providing private zones for family members. Each suite includes a study, bathroom, walk-in closet, and balcony.
“Monolith” embodies reliability and unity with nature. The concrete façade of the house seamlessly flows into the fencing, extending from interior to exterior.

Boris Evgenievich Bestuzhev — graduated in 2017 from the Academy of Architecture and Arts, Southern Federal University, with a degree in the restoration and reconstruction of architectural heritage. Over 7 years of experience designing private residential houses.
Kseniya Vitalievna Bestuzheva — First Degree Diploma at the international competition of graduation projects in architecture, design, and art (Volgograd, 2018); shortlisted for the All-Russian student competition GRAPHISOFT BIM PROJECT, 2018; finalist in the national architectural competition ArchYouth (remote participation, 2nd place).
