Mountain Cabin

Best Architectural Project Created with Hand-Drawn Graphics

About the project (provided by the applicant)
I designed this cabin not as an intrusion into the landscape, but as its natural continuation. I embedded it into the slope using massive stone slabs for the base — they seem to grow directly from the earth. Above this solid foundation, I raised a volume of warm, seasoned cedar, which will gray under the influence of wind and sun, blending even more with the rocks.

The roof is gentle, almost level with the mountain ridges, yielding to nature rather than challenging it. The main window faces the most majestic panorama — a living picture that changes every hour. Inside, I left exposed massive beams, darkened by time, and stone masonry that absorbs heat during the day and releases it softly at night.

My goal was not decoration, but the creation of a reliable, authentic shelter where everything serves simplicity, durability, and harmony with the harsh yet beautiful natural surroundings. This is honest architecture, unadorned.
