Multifunctional Concert Complex

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The design site is located in Belarus, in the southwestern part of Brest, 6 km from the Brest Fortress. The form of the complex is based on the symbol of fire from Belarusian folk ornamentation. Fire symbolizes strength, courage, and nobility, reflecting the status of such a historically significant city as Brest. The eight petals of the fire ornament formed the basis for the volumetric layout of all functional blocks surrounding the core of the complex — the concert hall. Another name for the fire ornament is “Voshmiróg” (Eight-Horned), which also represents celestial fire, echoing the stork sculpture located near the site.
The structural system of the concert hall consists of folded reinforced concrete elements, connected at contact points with the large-span spatial frame of the surrounding petal-shaped functional blocks.
