About the project (provided by the applicant)
On October 9, 2024, the 150th anniversary of Nicholas Roerich’s birth, a monument to the great artist was solemnly unveiled at the Izvara Museum-Estate.
The bronze sculpture accurately reproduces a photograph of Nicholas Roerich taken in the estate’s studio in the late 1890s. The artist is depicted young and dressed in «Russian style»: while fascinated by the East, Nicholas Konstantinovich also seriously studied the culture of Ancient Russia in his youth. These years are inseparably linked with the Izvara estate. The areas near Volosovo station enriched the inner world of the artist as much as the capital city did.
