About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Nature Research Center is the winner of the WA Community competition. This architectural project aims to create a space harmoniously integrated into the natural environment of Puna, Jujuy Province, Argentina. The center serves educational and ecological purposes: visitors explore the region’s unique biodiversity through interactive exhibits, audiovisual media, and educational programs.
The architectural concept uses aluminum profiles, glass, stone, and concrete, ensuring strength, durability, and a contemporary aesthetic. Recyclable and eco-friendly aluminum profiles are applied on facades, transparent walls, doors, and railings, creating a visual connection between the exterior landscape and the interior. Panoramic glass panels maximize natural light while providing unobstructed views of the surrounding nature.
