About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Nikola-Lenivets team has long been reflecting on the museification of collections and contemporary art in general. On one hand, there is a desire to preserve heritage for centuries; on the other, there is a reluctance to trap art under glass. The park’s objects live, age, renew, and pass into history, remaining in memory. The White City Museum, designed by Narine Tyutcheva, continues this reflection. The symbol of museification is materialized in the form and proportions of the Parthenon—a universal symbol of museums. Instead of marble, wooden columns are used, referring to “Russian antiquity,” one of the art park’s techniques. Climbing the steps, visitors enter a giant sandbox with stones, sticks, and rakes. The museum space is simultaneously a construction site, material for creativity, and exhibition hall. Here, anyone can create their own object and leave a mark in the sand of time—until someone else reshapes it.
