The cultural heritage site of republican significance «Novo-Slobodskaya Mosque, 1801–1805» is located at the intersection of Mekhovshchikov and Kyzyl Tatarstan streets. It has important urban planning and cultural significance. Considering the plans for the renovation of the Novo-Tatar Sloboda territory, the mosque may become an important urban landmark, a center of religious life, and an attractive tourist destination. The building layout corresponds to classical Tatar mosques: two prayer halls on the second floor, a staircase in the northern part, and utility rooms on the ground floor. The historical appearance of the Kazan traditional two-hall mosque with a central minaret has been restored. The interiors — stucco, stained glass, tiles, and carpets — were recreated based on historical analogs with the use of traditional Tatar ornaments. Traditional colored ceramics were used in the decoration of the prayer halls.
