NRK Vestfold and Telemark ´PULSE`
Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project
OPEN, BRAVE, RELIABLE: NRKs values have been integrated into our concept. We focused on re-purposing the existing building as creative transformation of existing buildings has a social-economical value for our cities. From the beginning we have worked to develop a strong and sustainable concept, that both visualises NRKs values and at the same time is expressed in form. The news bubbles became a key design element — partly as a generator for function flow, partly as physical forms: The large unifying, round staircase with meeting space, the round skylight with the halo luminaire and the round hot spot on the roof terrace where they can broadcast live. NRK considered our project to have struck right into the core of their needs and values. The rest of the interior concept draws its inspiration from Telemark´s history and traditions with local colors and natural materials — and Porsgrunn Porcelain.

Coop Eiendom AS and KB Arkitekter AS teamed up after being invited to participate in a concept and price competition, to develop a transformational concept of an existing building in the centre of Porsgrunn.
Our team won and continued the project in collaboration with NRK, IARK AS (who have a framework agreement with NRK) and PEAB AS who was the turnkey contractor.
