About the project (provided by the applicant)
A commercial complex in connection with the city and people. A commercial hub in Parand, linking city and people through retail, leisure, and growth. The site, located by the highway, is flanked by dense commercial complexes. While the client proposed a high-density complex with many shops, this approach results in a building shorter than its neighbors. Designing a commercial building with sun angles in mind optimizes light, reduces energy use, and improves comfort. Building massing, setbacks, heights, and proportions can enhance daylighting, ventilation, and minimize heat gain By varying building height, we maximize solar energy use and distinguish the project from its neighbors. Instead of designing a traditional façade, we adapted common commercial design diagrams to the site context. Our bottom-up approach is based on a 5×5×5 cubic module, achieving the desired height and density through modular play. This strategy creates a dynamic, sustainable commercial space that enhances both
