Pionersky Pond in Gorky Park
Category
Best Implemented Architectural Lighting Project in Russia
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The historic pond in Gorky Park, created in the 19th century, has become part of the “Moscow, City-Resort” program and a modern public space with a beach, wake park, and recreation areas. The lighting design aims to create a resort-like atmosphere and a comfortable environment for evening relaxation. The main focus is on floor lamps that establish rhythm, a sense of security, and a soft character for the space. A secondary layer is integrated lighting in canopies and railings, where the light source is hidden, and reflections in the water enhance the mirrored effect.
Additional accents on decks and pathways create a cozy glow and intimate scale. In the evening, the area transforms into a harmonious resort landscape: the light does not dominate but gently reveals the atmosphere of calm and appeal, turning the pond into an urban attraction.
