About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project involves a large-scale reconstruction of the historic Pohjola-Koitto Oy confectionery factory site in Vyborg. While carefully preserving the spirit of industrial heritage, it is transformed into an elite holiday resort.
The project envisages the restoration of the historical configuration of the factory buildings, maintaining the unique architectural character and atmosphere of the site. By working with modern site boundaries, the old buildings are not just reconstructed but integrated into a completely new, comfortable, and functional space for recreation, harmoniously fitting the industrial landscape of the past.
The complex infrastructure includes a hotel, a SPA complex, a restaurant with two summer terraces, a summer kitchen, an inner courtyard, a sports area with exercise equipment, pedestrian routes across the site, and a waterfront with boat rentals.
The project aims to become a new attraction point in Vyborg, offering a unique experience where industrial history meets modern standards of leisure and hospitality.
