Rails Center of Contemporary Art

Best Implemented Creative Space Design

About the project
This is the first modern art center in Tver.  It is arranged at the 2nd floor of the building which the citizens know as the ex Fashion House, built in 1937. For a long time, the beam ceiling and gilded stucco was concealed by plaster boards, but the architects removed all of it, preserving and restoring the stucco elements as far as possible.
They put the building’s history and culture into the spotlight, adding modern furniture to the premises and implementing a well-considered lighting scenario. The new center embraces a free of charge library, two lecture halls, a mini exhibition venue, a coworking zone, and a cafe. Every week, the center arranges lectures and workshops, as well as exhibitions, film presentations, and architecture, art, and chess classes for children.
