Project
Architecture of Memory_The New Cultural Bazaar/Ethnographic Museum

Nomination
Best Architectural Project by a Student

About the project
Architecture of Memory explores the relationship between memory and space and how can the memory be a starting point for an architecture full of meaning and potential to activate our thoughts and behaviors.
The New Cultural Bazaar and the Ethnographic Museum are the essence of the past and the present of Shkodra city. This Project tries to be an intermediate between the Nature and the City (the built form), fusing both of them with each other. It is a project that will try to put the human being between the Reality and the History, both of them bringing back memories of the past and so making you experience, memories of the future. In every step you take you will be faced with existing and with the reflections or shadows of the past. This concept is an answer to the actual Site and analysis coming from Memory.
The Site of the project is the place where a century ago was located the biggest market in the Balkans, it was the most glorious period of Shkodra city.
