About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project addresses two main objectives: the reconstruction of an abandoned construction site located along one of the eco-trails in Ufa, and the design of a pavilion as a new level of public space. The concept of the pavilion “Traveler’s Notes” refers to the research expeditions of P. S. Pallas in the Urals. During his travels, the scientist made studies — quick academic sketches or notes. One such note, created by Pallas during his visit to Mount Yangantau, inspired the pavilion’s architectural form: “From the open crevices rises an unceasing, thin, trembling hot vapor against the sun... In bad weather and in dark nights it appears as a thin red flame or a fiery ball several arshins high.”
The first level includes a coworking space, a lecture hall, and a yoga room. The second level features a coffee point, an area for temporary exhibitions, and a small cinema hall. The project aims to transform the abandoned structure into a new point of attraction along the forest trail.
