Project
Recreation center in Narzan Valley

Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project
Rehabilitation of the Soviet Narzan Valley resort built in 1936. The architectural highlight of the project is the motel that looks like a Middle Age castle — it survived till nowadays and became the starting point for the new project, both in terms of urban development and metaphoric context.
Narzan is the name of mineral water, which comes from ‘nart sane’, the drink of the Narts, or the drink of the Knights.  The buildings of the resort rise from the terrain as the pieces of rock, fractured by the bitter tears Nart, the Knight of Water, the hero of the local epos, spilled.
