About the project (provided by the applicant)
This proposal transcends a mere renovation; it is a cultural reawakening. We propose transforming a conventional café on Tehran's iconic Valiasr Avenue into a vibrant hub of Persian-Islamic art and architecture.
This space will evolve into a living gallery and an interactive educational platform. It will serve as a beacon for both locals and global citizens, fostering dialogue and offering immersive workshops on traditional arts. By seamlessly integrating authentic elements like Muqarnas, intricate tilework, and calligraphy with contemporary design, we create a profound, multi-sensory experience.
This project is vital to safeguard a priceless heritage against global homogenization. It is not just a café; it is a forward-looking academy that actively teaches and promotes Iran's artistic legacy, ensuring its relevance and appreciation for future generations on a global stage.
