About the project
The authors intended to create a comfortable urban space for citizens and tourists. The main square of Uglich lacks a finished architectural ensemble and an infrastructure. The project provides for some open public spaces, featuring natural materials. The Minor Shopping Arcade is designed at the south-west corner of Uspenskaya Square, and The Major Shopping Arcade will fill in the visual gap along Uspenskaya Street. The Concert Hall is designed along the main pedestrian ways from the square to the embankment. The new layout will recover historical spatial links to the churches.
