Project
Futurist-Framed Renaissance
Category
Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The client is an art connoisseur, open to unconventional solutions. The task involved selecting decorative lighting and textiles, and creating custom-designed furniture. When adding to the art collection and framing the works, the architectural peculiarities of the space and the existing wall color presented challenges. To ensure seamless adjacency of the paintings to the wall, a method was developed for creating deep frames from sheet brass, which solved the problem of viewing the paintings from side angles when hung in the hallway and on wall segments of the loggia. Antique lace of a tablecloth, fixed onto a stretcher frame, was transformed into a high art object. The design of the sofa for the children's room emphasizes materials not traditionally used in modern furniture making – marble and silk; an armrest with a large overhang allows the sofa to be used as a workspace.
We present the project in the Futurist residential complex as a Renaissance-like return of art to the interior.
