The design site is located on the territory of the former ship repair plant “Krasny Don” on Beregovaya Street. The building constructed on this site will play an integral role in shaping the riverfront of Rostov-on-Don. The image of the museum was inspired by a river port with loading cranes, vessels, and cargo containers. This concept also addressed another important task — connecting two levels of the site with a height difference of 18 meters. The museum is composed of cargo containers and their structural elements suspended on gantry cranes. Thus, the exhibition space is mobile and can be expanded by adding new modules.
