About the project
A cohesive identity of spaces arose responding to the unique use of the indigenous material ROPE — high on sustainability. The material palette consisted of all recycled, locally available elements and technique and processes coupled with contemporising the craft proffered magnetic results. The spaces were designed to promote an environment that is warm, and welcoming helped by sunlight, which was a forte for this design, connecting people surrounded by green plants embracing the ideology of Biophilic design make up the complete place. The material rope was adopted with raw wood, colours and textures, balanced by sciagraphy. The angles of the weaved canopy were such that part canopy created a shadow for the rest of the terrace. The material ROPE is stylishly used for a café redefining the meaning of an organic traditional material. A unique and outside the box thinking, use of reclaimed materials and converting them into energetic dynamic designs.
