Project
Temple Complex “Russian North”
Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
Many people do not realize the dire condition of historical wooden architecture in the Russian North. Therefore, in addition to designing a church that will fill the absence of temples on the right bank of Kargopol, I set myself the goal of drawing attention to traditional wooden architecture. The project is partially restoration-oriented.
The temple complex includes the main Church of St. Cyril of Siryinsky, a hotel, a refectory, a reconstructed Church of St. George the Victorious from the village of Permogorye, an administrative building, individual cottages, an exhibition complex, and housing for church staff.
