Project
Russian fairy-tale

Nomination
Best Implemented Façade or Interior Project Using Ceramics

About the project
A wooden bathhouse within private grounds was designed and finished in the Russian style. The fairy-tale spirit of the building is enhanced by abundant engraved wooden doors, casings and lintels, unique wooden furniture and bright ceramic highlights (the shower is finished with turquoise green  tiling, and the fireplace showcased peacocks). The project was based on a sketch of Peter Vaulin, an outstanding master of ceramics. The authors couldn’t miss the fireplace, which resembled one of the most distinguished works of that time, Vrubel’s Mikula Selyaninovich and Volga fireplace, as well as motives and shapes typical for the Symbolism era.
