Sayeban villa

About the project (provided by the applicant)
This villa, located in Yazd, Iran, is conceived with a deep respect for traditional Iranian architecture, the challenges of a hot-arid climate, and the needs of contemporary living. The use of light-colored brick not only resonates with the historic fabric of the city but also reduces heat absorption, enhancing thermal comfort. The building mass is shaped through calculated setbacks, controlled shading, and well-oriented openings that manage direct sunlight while guiding natural light deep into the interior. The traditional concept of “andarooni and birooni” is reinterpreted to preserve privacy while maintaining a strong visual and spatial connection with the courtyard. The combination of warm wooden ceilings, rhythmic vertical and horizontal lines, and transparent façades creates a serene and inviting atmosphere — a project that simultaneously honors tradition and embodies the essence of “Architecture as Art.”
