Project
Second thoughts on Chiese Diruta church ruins

Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project
The authors attempted to carefully rearrange the church architecture, restoring its essential parts and internal structure so that the church could be used in any weather. Devisualization methods are complemented with translucent and reflective surfaces. Thanks to the Gestalt philosophy – absence of presence or presence of absence – the author preserve the plants on the facades to emphasize the unity of architecture and nature, as well as save the spirit of a traditional Italian town. The resulting ghostly building will favorably fit into the urban environment.

Location
Grottole, Italy
