Multi-Apartment Sectional Residential Building

About the project (provided by the applicant)
The building is located on the shore of Lake Vtoroe Zhdanovskoe and conceptually serves as a gateway to the lake’s park area.
The lower floors house commercial spaces, parking entrances, and apartments with access to private terraces. Standard apartments feature bay windows that allow sunlight to penetrate deep into the rooms.
The primary finishing material is wooden shingles. Their use allows the building to blend organically with the natural landscape. Like tree trunks standing closely together and forming vertical stripes, the shingles create a similar rhythm, and their elements, like branches, divide the surface into horizontal segments.
The concept is based on material continuity and architectural honesty. The mono-material of shingles emphasizes the monumentality and integrity of the volumes, while chrome details visually express the technical nature of the solutions. The combination of wood and chrome symbolizes the dialogue between old and new. Over time, the shingles will fade, acquiring silvery tones, while the stainless steel elements will continue to reflect the changing environment. Both materials work together to create a unique and dynamic appearance for the building.
