About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project proposes the creation of a multifunctional creative cluster that can become a driver for city development while preserving its historical memory. The silhouette of the project is based on the axis of symmetry of the building's central part. With the addition of a stained-glass gallery, it acquires a centrally symmetrical composition, differing from its original form.
On the left are a cinema hall, whose contours echo the arches of the historic part of the building, and exhibition spaces. Behind the gallery windows is a preserved fragment of a dam, a monument to the history of hydraulic engineering. This arrangement integrates the object into a museum-like interior, making it a “framed” exhibit. Minimalist stained-glass constructions complement the existing structures, emphasizing the elegance of the historic elements. Brushed copper was chosen as an accent material, referencing the history of the site. The design creates a cohesive project where old and new elements coexist and interact seamlessly.
