About the project
The architect designed a proposal to extend the existing Central General Store (TsUM) so that it would ensure not only the shopping facilities, but also the educational, entertainment and recreation ones.
The existing building is a bright example of Sochi’s Soviet architecture. Moreover, it determines the spirit of the entire city and establishes its architectural language.
The project provides for total disassembly of all the internal structures within the building and allocation of exhibition venues, conference rooms, shops, cafes, and a restaurant with access to the flat roof.
The red volume at the central atrium will become a spatial and visual highlight of the building.
