Project
Library in the City of Stroitel
Category
Best Design Project for Library
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The city of Stroitel emerged from a workers’ settlement located near the deposits of iron ore known as the “Yakovlevsky Mine.” The library is situated in the city center, on the ground floor of a residential building.
The design year — 2019 — coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School. The spatial style combines motifs of Russian avant-garde with functionality and ergonomic design. Visual communication with visitors takes the form of a dialogue reminiscent of 1920s posters, featuring calls to action and motivation such as “Hello, reader!” and “Read it — return it to the shelf!”
