Project
TAU Musical Culture Space at the Former MetMash Plant
Category
Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The main hall of TAU, located on the grounds of the former MetMash plant, is a multifunctional venue divided into two zones. The first is dedicated to events and includes a stage, dance floor, bars, and an amphitheater. The second features a lounge, tea room, coworking area, store, and museum space. These areas are separated by volumes that house VIP rooms overlooking the dance floor and stage.
The visual concept is based on a fusion of the site's industrial architecture, the historical legacy of the MetMash plant, and the spatial composition itself. Many of the interior elements reflect the theme of metal pipes, a direct reference to the factory’s metallurgical past. In contrast, bright neon accents are introduced. Combined with exposed concrete and visible engineering systems, this creates a distinctive atmosphere that immerses visitors from any point in the space. The lighting design softens the overall brutalist and industrial aesthetic.
