About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Skyfold Bridge; Next-Gen Townscape and Gas Station Hubs is a visionary urban design proposal that redefines neglected urban corners, intersections, and fuel station sites as vibrant civic assets. The project integrates a fold-like pedestrian bridge—“Skyfold”—with next-generation gas station hubs, transforming purely functional infrastructure into architectural landmarks and social condensers. By connecting fragmented urban parcels, such as parking lots and residual plots, the Skyfold Bridge generates elevated public promenades, while the reimagined gas stations serve as hybrid spaces that combine energy services, retail, and cultural functions. Together, they create an urban ecosystem that promotes sustainability, accessibility, and community engagement. This mixed-use project not only elevates mobility and connectivity but also demonstrates how infrastructural nodes can be reprogrammed into dynamic, people-oriented townscapes for the 21st century.
