Hotel with Thermal Complex in Filinskaya Bay
Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The diploma project focuses on the design of a hotel with a thermal complex located in Filinskaya Bay, one of the most picturesque areas of the Kaliningrad Region, 8 km from the resort town of Svetlogorsk. The site is unique, combining a dramatic natural landscape with elevation changes, pine forests, sea access, and a rich historical and cultural context — nearby are preserved examples of early 20th-century German dacha architecture.
The architectural solution aims to create a modern, comfortable, and eco-friendly recreational environment that promotes domestic tourism, supports public health, and positions the region as a year-round resort. The project is based on principles of sustainable development, careful environmental stewardship, efficient use of geothermal and climatic resources, and delicate integration of the architectural object into the existing landscape.
