The Thaba Erdy Church is the oldest Christian church on the territory of modern Russia, located in the Dzheyrakhsky District of the Republic of Ingushetia. This unique stone building has preserved three historical periods — 8th century (lower part of the church), 11th century (apse and eastern façade), and 16th century (central part). The last restoration was carried out in the mid-20th century. Today, many elements of the church are lost, and the building is in a critically deteriorated state.
The project proposes reinforcement of the church walls, installation of a new roof structure, and restoration of lost elements. All design work was carried out strictly according to historical iconography and the results of 2024 archaeological studies. Restoration of the church began in September 2025.
