About the project (provided by the applicant)
This commercial showroom project involved the adaptive reuse of a 600 sq.m basement warehouse within a Turkish building materials store. The goal was to transform the underutilized space into a curated showroom, displaying a wide range of products including ceramic tiles, large-format slabs, pool tiles, kitchen appliances (oven, hood, stove, microwave), bathroom fixtures (taps, washbasins), and wellness items (bathtubs, Jacuzzis, toilets).
To enhance user experience and ease of selection, the layout was divided into themed zones, each dedicated to a specific product category while maintaining visual continuity. Circulation paths were carefully planned to provide a smooth and engaging flow through the space.
The ceiling was left exposed and painted to retain the industrial character, while a neutral grey epoxy floor allowed the products to stand out. Warm wooden beams were added to introduce tactile richness and a sense of comfort to the raw architectural language.
