About the project (provided by the applicant)
“Together with stage designer Alexander Khramtsov, the director created a space with ruined walls, within which each of the characters deals with the traumas of war in their own way. Astonishingly, in the very first scene the arcades of an Italian church courtyard, combined with the movement of Puccini’s music, instantly brought to the Zazerkalye Theatre hall the aromas of Rome, unforgettable to anyone who has ever visited this divinely beautiful city.” (V. Dudin, Nezavisimaya Gazeta. Zazerkalye of Tosca).
“The beauty of the Catholic celebration created by stage designer Alexander Khramtsov delights the audience. The white colonnade of the symbolic cathedral shimmers with the starry lights of candles, while the radiant crown above it emanates truly divine radiance, making even the snow-white figure of the Virgin seem to glow from within.” (E. Ometsinskaya, Argumenty Nedeli. The Queen is Dead. Long Live the Queen!).
