About the project (provided by the applicant)
The airport building is designed in the form of a twisted ribbon that creates a sense of dynamics and movement. Its polygonal structure interacts with light to produce an illusion of water ripples, enlivening the façade.
The ribbon form serves not only as a visual symbol but also as a reflection of the building’s functional logic. The circular structure separates passenger flows, creating an intuitive orientation system.
Entry to the terminal is through the right “tail” of the ribbon, leading into the main hall on the first floor. From there, passengers can ascend to the second-floor departure area, which encircles an open inner courtyard with a garden.
Arriving passengers descend smoothly to the first floor along ramps running beside panoramic glazing, without the need for stairs or elevators. The arrivals area, located on the first floor, leads to the left “tail” of the ribbon, which extends over the boarding zone.
The pursuit of uniqueness and expressiveness transforms the airport into a symbol of the modern city, reflecting its openness to the world and readiness for the future.
