About the project
The site is located in the center of Saratov, close to the new embankment and the beach, and could loop the walking way and become an important public space of the city. Currently, this site is shut off for visitors.
The author intends to rediscover the identity of this place and the urban architecture. From here, many historical memorials will be visible and available, the site will be accessed from many streets and public spaces of the city. At the main entrance, there will be an exhibition pavilion for temporary expositions. In the mill itself, there will be the Schmidt Millers Museum.
Ideologically taking up on the flour making subject, the Vavilov Crop Research Institute is designed at the site, too. The elevator silos will be rearranged into a student hostel and viewing platforms. The park will present the local agricultural specifics.
