About the project (provided by the applicant)
This is a project of reconstruction the warehouse buildings in the historic town of Famagusta into a hub/local meeting point to serve Chamber of Civil Engineers in Cyprus.
In this design, space is born from three-dimensional vectors—intangible forces such as tension, compression, torsion, shear, and bending—that shape both structure and experience. A parametric mesh responds dynamically to these forces, evolving into an organic form that defines the interior. This contemporary intervention stands in deliberate contrast to the building’s historic masonry, yet the two coexist in a careful balance. The structural logic of the new elements complements the enduring textures of the past, achieving a symbiosis where movement and pressure generate both fluidity and function.
