Project
Architectural and Artistic Lighting of the Wege House
Category
Best Implemented Architectural Lighting Project in Russia
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The R.G. Wege Revenue House on the Kryukov Canal Embankment is a cultural heritage site and an outstanding example of St. Petersburg Neoclassicism. The majestic building, reminiscent of Italian Renaissance palazzi, features unique architectural elements: the main entrance is framed by a colonnade with Atlas sculptures, and the granite façade is adorned with Florentine and Venetian windows, balconies, and bay windows.
The lighting concept is based on carefully highlighting the building's structural features. A multi-level lighting composition was developed with individual illumination for each significant element. Special attention was paid to light accents that emphasize the façade's plasticity and decorative details.
All technical elements are concealed to preserve historical authenticity. The project was implemented using energy-efficient technologies that comply with the strict requirements for the preservation of cultural heritage sites. The lighting solution organically complements the architecture, underscoring the building's status.
