Project
Veliko Tarnovo Masterplan

Category
Best Project of Public Building or Facility

About the project
Following the design principles of the master plan, the exhibition center translates them on a smaller scale with its shape and altering transparency. Drawing the public into its dynamic interior, the procession of spaces leads the visitors to the cantilevered main gallery with unobstructed views toward the Old Town and the Tsarevets Fortress. The lower level incorporates the functionality of generous event space, flexible to host a variety of functions. The exterior enclosure follows the structural diagrid framing and opens strategically to provide interconnectivity between the exhibition center’s activities with its surrounding context.
