Project
Adala National War of Independence Museum and Atatürk House

Category
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition

About the project (provided by the applicant)
With this design, a historical building in Salihli functioned as a museum. The building was used as the headquarters of the Turkish Army in the last days of the War of Independence and Atatürk worked here. Based on this idea, the design preserves the originality of the restored building — for example, curtains are used as narrative panels on the upper floor to avoid any interference with the walls — and is itself conceived as an exhibition element. The circulation solution on both floors of the building constitutes the critical dimension of the design. The building, originally a house, has been transformed into a museum that can be visited by 30 visitors at the same time thanks to the circulation flow produced while preserving its authenticity.
