About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Yachting Tourism Center is part of the tourist cluster in Laishovo. The site area is 18.5 hectares. The architectural and landscape concept is inspired by the natural and cultural landmarks of Tatarstan. The site is divided into functional zones: the main building, cruise ship and yacht docks, marina, boat sheds, and yacht maintenance and service facilities. A gastronomic boulevard inspired by Tatar ornamentation, a waterfront promenade, and a vertical landmark — a lighthouse — have been created. The building opens towards the water, emphasizing the shoreline and serving as the “gateway” to the city.
The semantic concept of the center’s architecture is based on images of a yacht, a wave, and a bird’s wing, symbolizing freedom and movement. The façade is formed by three parametric shells covering the main volume. The interior space opens up to the surrounding environment through stained-glass glazing and a skylight. Modern interpretations of national patterns are incorporated into the structural elements.
