Project
Zanevsky Park — beautification

Category
Best Implemented Landscape Architecture Project

About the project
This park at the Neva River Waterfront was established in the 1960s on the project of O. Bashinsky and was named ‘Zanevsky’. Citizens always liked it, although recently it has been looking abandoned.
The designer hasn’t changed the layout and the planting patterns, but extended the park functionality: now citizens can do sports and have active leisure here. The basic topic of the beautification concept is space, which is reflected in the alley surrounded by pergola-like lamps – it looks like a cosmic tunnel, and round areas at the central alley – they symbolize the Solar system and the planets within, and the cosmic playgrounds.
There are all kinds of workout machines here, as well as the racing and cycling lanes, but the real centerpiece of the park is the pergola with swings – depending on how you swing, the lighting scenarios change.
