Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards, joined the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club

The Board of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club approved Pavel Chernyakov's candidacy during the meeting on September 21.

"It is a great honour to become a part of this community. I am determined to live up to the trust of the Club's Board,” says Mr. Chernyakov.

The Worldwide St. Petersburg Club (6 St. Isaac Square), a non-profit organization, founded in 1991 with the purpose of reviving St. Petersburg as a spiritual, intellectual, scientific and cultural centre. Its first president was professor Nikita Tolstoy (1917—1994), today the society is working under President Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage. The word «worldwide» begins the name of the club not only because it includes people living abroad. The club is also worldwide because it is open for cooperation with a citizen of any country who is not indifferent to the fate of Petersburg, whose cultural heritage is a world heritage.

The club developed and survived in a difficult time for Russian culture. This became possible, first of all, thanks to the activity of many of its members, two presidents and the first chairman of the board, Valentina Orlova (1946—2021). Now it is chaired by Natalia Sidorkevich.

The Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), Russian architect of Swiss origin, the first architect of St. Petersburg. The main objective of the Awards is turning the most artistically valuable architectural, design, restoration, scenography, and exhibition projects into museum objects. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council for the Golden Trezzini Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and General Director of the State Hermitage.

Entries for the 4^th Golden Trezzini Awards are accepted by October 1, 2021 at www.goldtrezzini.ru. 500+ projects from 80 countries have already been accepted. Participation is free of charge.

2021 Golden Trezzini Awards winners will be awarded in November during the Gala-Night at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The best projects by competitors will be added to the collection of the Architectural Graphics Fund at the Museum of St. Petersburg History and take part in an annual exhibition.
