Where the Olive Tree Rests

About the project (provided by the applicant)
“Where the Olive Tree Rests” is an enchanting home nestled in the historic core of Lutyens’ Delhi, where the dialogue between materiality, light, and the city’s architectural heritage is effortless. At its heart, an olive tree majestically anchors the space, its gnarled trunk and silvery-green leaves radiating a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. With a compact footprint of 4,000 sq ft, the home was strategically reconfigured within its existing boundaries to respond to the expanding needs of a growing family. Designed with an acute sensitivity to its site and context, the home embraces the constraints of renovation with ingenuity. By reimagining the floor plan for maximum efficiency, the design introduces flexible spaces that elegantly serve dual purposes, thereby optimizing every square foot.
The home is not just a sanctuary; it is a living narrative, enriched by both the history of Delhi and the personal stories that unfold within its walls.
