On Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 12:00, TASS (St. Petersburg) will host a press conference to announce the opening of the application period for the 7th edition of the International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design.
The awards are organized by the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club, a non-profit organization that promotes the cultural and historical heritage of St. Petersburg.
The press conference will feature the following speakers:
- Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and Director General of the State Hermitage Museum;
- Vladimir Zapevalov, Ambassador at Large and Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg;
- Natalia Sidorkevich, Chairwoman of the Board of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club;
- Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards;
- Özgün Talu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in St. Petersburg;
- Anna Yalova, Director of the Manege Central Exhibition Hall;
- Valdimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway Museum.
The speakers will share the goals and criteria of the awards, the achievements of the previous season, and the plans for the new one.
The International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini, the first architect of St. Petersburg, who laid the foundation for the unique architectural style of the city. The Awards recognize outstanding contributions to Architecture as Art. This is the only competition in the world, whose winning projects are included in the state museum fund and displayed in the exhibition at the state museum. The esteemed recognition elevates the winning projects to a status of historical and cultural significance, ensuring their preservation for future generations.
The awards are open to nominees from any country. Participation is free of charge. The application period will run from February 15 to September 15, 2024. The winners will be announced in November 2024 at the State Hermitage Museum and awarded with certificates and gilded statuettes of Domenico Trezzini.
