Project
A ranch for stargazing

About the project
Argentine pampas mean clear days and starry nights. Actually, the location is everything, it is every place with sky to observe. A link is sought between the house and the vast territory. The house is born from an approach as simple as country life, the courtyard that serves as the core, separating the sleeping area from the cooking area. The courtyard extends towards the stars, a place to look at the universe and be covered by a blanket of constellations and nebulae.
The idea is based on the vernacular architecture of La Pampa, the ranch (el rancho). Outside activities are incorporated into the interior, emphasizing the courtyard. The gathering to share around the fire, the grill, in a space with mobile openings towards the horizon and the firmament.
The simplicity of the design is supported by the reinterpretation of the materials of the pampean architecture, allowing to express what it really is, an enclosed ranch with a space to infinity and beyond.
